September 10th, 2009Migraine Headache Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment
Someone who suffers with a migraine head ache feels like this problem is impairing their strength and energy. Migraine causes are assorted but private stress seems to be the main contributing factor. Possibly in time the precise cause of migraines will be found.

One region of research has proved that migraine head aches can be passed down from one generation to another. Particular steps can be taken prior to a migraine attack that can help reduce the effects as lab studies in rats and humans have concluded. There are different phases of a migraine attack but the tests have shown that Triptan drugs can be used at anytime during the attack and have been successful in both humans and rats. So it is now possible by taking prescribed migraine medicine to help not only prevent the migraine attacks but also reduce the amount of possible attacks from taking place in the first place. Usually the most common migraine symptom is a throbbing or pulsating headache which is often one-sided (unilateral) and associated with feelings of sickness, vomiting, sensitivity to light, and sleep disruption. Often reported as an intense pounding sensation in the brow and temple region, it can also be in the ear to jaw region and close to the eyes.
Unfortunately, migraine headaches inflict intense pain upon the sufferer, to the point where they are incapable to go about their daily lives, spending their time lying in a room with the blinds down. Some studies have shown a reduction in migraine attacks when allergy producing foods were avoided with up to 85% of patients becoming headache-free (Lancet) so another migraine headache treatment that works is for the sufferer to stay away from food with dairy and wheat. This facet of migraine head ache treatment is also highlighted by alternative therapists who have seen the connection with food allergies causing a constriction of the arteries in the brain causing a dilation of muscular scalp arteries. Magnets have been known to have positive results on the body for a long time and because of these effects, would assist the arousal of hormone production which would help in the treatment a migraine headache. Riboflavin was originally thought as a migraine headache treatment and preventative because research workers discovered that migraine sufferers tend to have impaired get-up-and-go production in brain cells which riboflavin has the potential to enhance as it is a component of a key substance involved in the body’s energy production.
There are a large amount of alternative therapies based close to migraine headache curatives currently available for migraine head ache victims but there is little evidence that these solutions are any better than conventional methods at reducing the amount of attacks or relief from the attack itself. Unfortunately because we are all different, it isn’t worth listening to what another migraine patient says works for them as it may not work for you. Until a final cure is found, one of the best things you can do is maintain a diary of migraine attacks which would include other applicable information that could help the physician give a better diagnosis in the intervention of your migraine head ache.
